When purchasing classroom chairs and tables for your daycare,
preschool, classroom, church, Montessori, or home-school environment
the most important consideration is size.
Size IS everything! Follow
our guidelines below to assist you when choosing chairs.
CLASSROOM CHAIRS
2-3 year old toddler chairs- 8 or
9” seat height
3-4 year old preschool chairs-9 or 10” seat height
5 year old kindergarten chairs-11 or 12” seat height
6-7 year old first/second grade chairs-12 - 14” seat height
8+ years old 3rd grade and up-14 seat height
CLASSROOM TABLES
When choosing a table, consider the
age group. If one and two year olds will be using a table,
consider an 11" adjusting table, and 6 - 8 inch chairs. Also,
consider that these children will come in different sizes, so a
mixture of chair heights might be your answer. As a rule of
thumb, the top of a table should be 6 - 10 inches from the top of a
chair seat. This allows the child the ability to use the table
top with greater ease.
